I know I have been veering off my normal "limited edition/vinyl/import single" focus of the site, but with the Christmas season coming and my personal mix in the making, I am a bit preoccupied. So come be preoccupied with me! I got an e-mail last night from a wonderful blog, Confessions of a Would-Be Hipster, alerting me to their new charity Christmas compilation, Plastic Snow, to benefit an L.A. charity, The Midnight Mission."The Midnight Mission is one of the oldest continuously operating human services organizations in the Los Angeles region. Centered in the Skid Row area of downtown Los Angeles, the Mission runs one of the most efficient direct service operations in the country. With only four executive managers through out its ninety (90) year history, the Mission has been a consistent beacon of light for those with no where else to turn."So why not drop $10 on a Christmas comp that has some of L.A.'s best bands, including Earlimart, Pierre de Reeder and Great Northern to name a few.
They also have a great post with pics of the recording sessions - you should check it out!
